An Affordable but Durable Bar for Group Training
As the name suggests, the Rogue Beater Bar is a budget-priced barbell made to handle regular high-rep abuse from multiple weightlifters of any skill level. With a 31mm diameter, the Beater is thicker than most Rogue 20kg weight bars, but is still a highly dependable American-made bar backed by a One Year Guarantee Against Breaking and/or Collar Separation.
The Beater Bar features Olympic knurling marks, no center knurl, and a black zinc coated shaft. The sleeves are bright zinc coated and assembled with a pin design.

*Warrantied by manufacturer. Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.
Beater Bar Specifications:
I purchased this bar as a starter bar for my garage box at home. I have been abusing it daily for the past 8 months and it has yet to let me down. Sure it may not be your ideal Oly bar (saving up for an Ohio) but it gets the job done when you're cranking out some WODs. Yet another quality Rogue item that I've put to the test and you guys continue to keep me thoroughly happy with your outstanding products.
It lives up to it's name. Can't be happier with the price or the quality of this bar. Great bar!!!
I wasn't expecting much when I bought this bar because of the price, but when it came I was really impressed with it. I'm not a competitive lifter and I have no doubt I can get plenty strong with this bar, I doubt I'll need to upgrade anytime soon. The bar is thicker but I can still hook it and use it for deadlifts without an issue, people with smaller hands may have some trouble gripping this bar.
Our CrossFit gym bought five of these bars several years ago. They are all still in service. We've bent a few bars, dropping them loaded on racks and safeties. But somehow these are still going. They are definitely not as smooth-spinning as the Ohio Bars and they rattle when spun! People do "fight" over the Ohio bars for Olympic lifting! Some people prefer these fat bars for squats. However, I will still keep the Beaters around for squats and deadlifts even after I save up for several of the new Rogue Oly bars. (Can't wait, BTW.) In general I find Rogue equipment to be very durable and tough enough to stand up to the abuse CrossFitters dish out.
I've had my beater bar for almost a year and had absolutely no problem with it, it's exceeded my expectations especially for the price of the bar.
I have of these bars in my gym. This is a great beginners bars. The only down fall is all the rattling when the bar drops but besides that you definitely get a quality bar for and great price!
Great bar, great price. Like the extra thickness.
Really amazing bar for the money. I was using bars from the box stores that would maul my hands on heavy lifts. The knurling on the bar is perfect and easy to grip. The extra thickness is not a big deal and actually fits my hands well. If you are on a budget and want a high quality bar you can't go wrong with this one. I will only buy my bars from Rogue from now on. Thanks for a great product Rogue.
Love this bar , as others have stated before its a little bit thicker. If you're like me and have been using the regular bars for years, then a great challenge, feels funny at first but once you start banging away its a non factor. Bottom line it's money well spent in my book. Few bless but no big deal, I sort of like that it adds to the garage gym feel. Shipping is A+... Thanks Rogue and Courtney for your quick response to my question on the P-4 pull up system I purchased as well. You have my business from here on out!
Recently bought the beater bar. At first i was hesitant, figuring that for this price there was no way this could be a good bar. Holy crap was i surprised. This bar is awesome. Its a little thicker than most bars, it spins well when doing power lifts and i'm pretty sure it cold withstand a grenade!
