A New Fun Fitness Tool
I really like being able to occasionally substitute something for double-unders. Singles with the heavy rope fit the bill.

Great but could be better
Great heavy duty rope just wish it had some kind of protective layer around the cable. I use a yoga mat to jump to try to help cable last longer since I workout in my garage and is mostly concrete

Great quality heavy cable rope
This rope is fantastic if you want to up your calorie burn at the gym. It took me a little bit of practice to get used to it, because it takes a bit of heft to get it going, but once I got a feel for it had me sweating in no time. Using this in combination with a regular rope makes for a great workout. Don't expect to to dubs with this! It's definitely more of a muscle/cardio that'll leave your whole body tired.

It's a heavy rope, all right.
Really happy with it. Highly recommend. I suggest using it in a Tabata format. Works real well. Careful with your shins. You can open yourself right up with this cable.

Okay. Not great.
Definitely does its’ job well of blasting your shoulders while jumping rope. However, it’s been used exclusively on smooth concrete (garage) and floor mats. No rough surfaces. And within roughly 2000-2500 turns of the rope the cable is already fraying and splintering. Not terribly. But some. Right now the center which makes contact with the floor is wrapped in electrical tape. It’s not a terribly expensive piece of equipment. But any jump rope, even a heavy rope, probably needs to last multiple tens of thousands of turns before it starts to break apart. Replaceable plastic sleeves (like a crossover rope) or some kind of durable coating at the center of the cable would do wonders for this rope. As it stands right now it’s only okay. It gets high marks for achieving its purpose. Low marks for durability.

Best way to get better with the Ropes
Month a normal speed rope over a year ago, I made more progress with using the weighted rope for a week and than I did in the year of the normal rope, my speed work is much faster and smoother, can go for minutes at a time now (Hey now ;) Use the weighted & speed rope for 15mins each a day, they work well with one another, noticed my conditioning as improved alot. Would recommend to a friend, I would also recommend putting a bit of rubber pipe on the contact point.
