Monster Utility Bench 2.0
Available in Multiple Custom Configurations

Manufactured in the USA using 3x3” 11-gauge steel, the newly redesigned Rogue Monster Utility Bench combines the stability of an extra wide 26.5” rear base with a new single-column front foot, giving athletes more room for setting their feet during a bench press. Each unit ships disassembled from our warehouse to reduce shipping costs, and comes with all necessary hardware for a quick set-up, as well as rubber feet to protect your flooring.

Version 2.0 also rolls out new improvements in portability and storage, as a set of rear wheels and a built-in handle in the front foot enable athletes to quickly and easily pick up the bench and roll it in/out of a rack or out of the way entirely. When not in use, the Monster Utility Bench 2.0 can also now be stored upright for better space efficiency, with a UHMW cap at the end of the bench spine ensuring no damage to the bench pad—no matter which type of pad you’re using.

As with the original model, gym owners can customize the Monster Utility Bench 2.0 during the ordering process by selecting a preferred bench height (Standard vs. Shorty) and style of bench pad (Standard vs. Premium vs. Competition Fat Pad™ vs. Thompson Fat Pad™). The Shorty Bench option allows athletes to use a Fat Pad™ while still keeping the unit at a more traditional flat bench height. We’re also offering an alternative to the standard MG Black front handle, as customers can add a Knurled Stainless Steel handle to their order a la carte in a short or standard-length option. The knurling on the stainless handle is the same pattern found on our Rogue Ohio Bar.

Quality Rogue Construction

With its 3x3” 11-gauge steel frame, 47.375" x 26.25" footprint, and 3/16” laser-cut Rogue-branded gussets, the Monster Utility Bench 2.0 is unmatched for dependable stability. A set of rubber feet further assist in both preventing movement and protecting your floor, and the unit is finished in a quality MG Black powdercoat with Black Zinc hardware.

New Front Foot Design
2

New Front Foot Design

Rather than having the wide horizontal steel tube base on both ends of the bench, Version 2.0 introduces a new standalone, column-style front foot that gives up nothing in stability while offering more ample room for athletes to set their feet during a bench press. Includes a bolt-on rubber foot to match those of the wide rear base.

Customers can use the dropdown menu to choose between a standard height Monster Utility Bench (17.5” with a standard pad / 19.75” with a Fat Pad) or our “Shorty” model (15.25” with standard pad / 17.5” with Fat Pad).

Further customization is possible by selecting your preferred style of bench pad:

Standard (47"L x 12"W x 2.5" Thick // 11 LBS) - Closed cell foam, Black vinyl.

Premium (47"L x 12"W x 2.5" Thick // 20 LBS) - Self-skinning, highly engineered polyurethane foam. Black w/ debossed Rogue branding. Includes a black substrate on the underside for a clean finished look that won’t deteriorate over time.

Competition Fat Pad (50"L x 12.5"W x 4.5" Thick // 24.5 LBS) - Black “grabber” vinyl. Wider than standard but narrower than Thompson Pad.

Thompson Fat Pad (50"L x 14.5"W x 4.5" Thick // 30 LBS) - Black “grabber” vinyl. Oversized design promotes scapular movement, eliminates shoulder hangover, and optimizes back and upper body positioning.

 Improved Portability

Improved Portability

Version 2.0 of the Monster Utility Bench now includes a set of wheels in the rear base and a handle incorporated into the new front foot. This enables athletes to quickly and easily pick up the bench from the front and roll it wheelbarrow-style into or out of a rack, or out of the way entirely. Customers can opt for the standard MG Black handle or a Knurled Stainless Steel Handle, available a la carte in a short or standard-length.

Upright Storage

Upright Storage

Near where the user’s head goes, we've added a UHMW cap to the end of the bench spine. This allows the Monster Utility Bench to be stored upright with no risk of damaging the pad. This new model is strategically designed so that no matter which pad the user selects at checkout, the UHMW cap will always extend just slightly beyond the pad to make safe contact with the floor when being stored vertically.

Great bench
I love this bench. It's so much better than the 9" wide adjustable bench I was using before. I particularly like how it stands up stably when not in use, saving a ton of space.

Best Flat Bench on the market
I recently purchased this flat bench, and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had issues with having damaged Rogue products in the past, however, this item showed up in amazing condition. Rogue was cool enough to arm the wheels, making the overall assembly incredibly fast and easy. Thank you Rogue!! Lives up to its’ name. For reference, I went with the Rogue Monster Utility 2.0 shorty with competition fat pad and stainless steel knurled handle.

Great bench.Quality control issues were worked out
I bought this a month ago. Shorty version with the Thompson fat pad. Front foot was missing rubber pad and screws (supposed to be attached from warehouse). First customer service rep was clueless, sent me rubber pad and screws. Unfortunately the holes aren't threaded, no way to attach screws. Called back, second customer service rep was great, sent new foot which had the rubber attached. Took an extra 2 weeks to be finally be able to use my new product. They offered a dinky credit, then dinky refund. Not what I was expecting from a quality company. I also have an adjustable 3.0 bench, 750lbs of bumper plates and 4100 Froning cage (check that review for pictures, details). Love the brand, love the product, but they messed this one up and were super cheap about it. Finally, it is tippy, being a tripod/three legged design. Not when lying down to do a press, but if you're getting up and touch the front corners, it's tippy.

No rubber attached to front foot. In case you're wondering, the rubber is needed to stop the bolt under the front foot from making the bench fall over. See next picture for detail.
Bolt that makes the rubber mandatory or it can't sit flat.
Focus on top foot. No rubber.
Rubber finally arrived. Flat bench under my Froning 4100 with 750lbs of Rogue bumper plates.

Love the fat pad. Dislike the instability.
I've been using this bench for almost one year now. Big fan of the Fat pad. This thing is heavy and solid. It feels great for bench press. However, if you plan to utilize it for anything other than or in addition to bench, maybe look elsewhere. The new design of the front foot is terrible. We also recently purchased a FID bench for the home gym and it is significantly more stable. I sent a video to Rogue demonstrating the instability and received a "that's fine, working as intended" response. Imagine yourself sitting upright at the end of the bench (by the "front foot"), you bend down to grab your dumbbells... uh oh, the whole bench careens to the side because the front foot offers virtually no lateral support. It's very annoying and something we encounter constantly. Want to do bench dips? Make sure you're only at the end with the lateral support feet. It's so obnoxious and aggravating that I'm working with a friend to design a bolt-on footplate that will provide the lateral stability without affecting the bench height. I bet there might even be a little after market demand for such a piece. I wish Rogue would just offer one.

Great bench top notch customer service
The Thompson pad is the best part of this bench, with that said the frame has a great design and is fairly stable. The tripod design does feel unstable at times but that is to be expected. I received the bench with some imperfections including a missing laser cut. Customer service was great and the issue was resolved.

Poorly Manufactured — Unstable Front Foot
Beware and reconsider before purchasing this unit, it may be flawed. We wanted a high quality and stable flat bench and finally chose this one with a Thompson Fat Pad over the REP wide version. The front foot is not straight making the front of the bench highly unstable. We tried it on many different flooring surfaces where we are certain that the floor is even to realize that the front foot is not straight. We are very disappointed after having spent that kind of money for a bench. We have contacted ROGUE via email but we haven’t received any response. Think twice prior to disbursing such capital on a bench that may be flawed and that will end up being unused or sent to a shop in an attempt to straighten the front foot. Disappointing to say the least.

Response from Rogue Fitness:

We're very sorry for any issues you have experienced with your Monster Utility Bench. We appreciate you working with us to provide photos of your current set up. We have identified that loosening the hardware will allow the bench to level out, at which point you can then re-tighten it back down. We are continuing to offer our support until your bench is stable.
