WOD Welder Memorial Day Murph

For more than a decade, the CrossFit community has paid homage to a fallen hero, Navy Lieutenant and Medal of Honor recipient Michael P. Murphy (1976-2005, by collectively taking on the challenge of his favorite WOD, “Body Armor”—now known as the Hero WOD “Murph.” Over time, the Murph Challenge has evolved into an annual Memorial Day tradition, with athletes across the country taking part and raising money for the LT. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation.

Rogue is pleased to raise awareness for this great cause and to help equip athletes looking to take on the Murph themselves. The epic challenge—which starts and ends with a one mile run and includes 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, and 300 squats—is traditionally performed while wearing a 20LB weighted vest / body armor. For this reason, our Memorial Day Murph product page includes a variety of quality-made tactical vests and plate carriers, as well as gloves , grips , tape, and other accessories to get through the gauntlet.
