Assault AirRunner

A New Breed of Treadmill from the Makers of the Assault AirBike.

The Assault AirRunner completely redefines the manual treadmill, offering superior steel construction, dependable stability, and no-limits functionality in a streamlined, energy-efficient design. Few high-performance running machines are as lightweight (280 LBS) and portable (built-in transport wheels) as the AirRunner, and its compact footprint makes it adaptable to just about any type of training space.

Because it’s a motorless treadmill, the AirRunner uses no electricity, running instead on the energy produced by the user’s own movement. Whether you’re a beginner athlete or a competitor at the highest levels, the machine can instantly conform to your desired speed, even if you change your output randomly at will. There is no maximum speed setting—if you want to push your limits during a workout, the AirRunner will be uniquely up to the task.

Assault’s precision design includes not only a solid steel frame and handrails, but corrosion resistant hardware and a durable slatted running surface—built with HIIT (high intensity interval training) in mind. The included AirRunner console keeps you informed on your time, calories burned, distance, speed, watts, and pace, with a number of heart-rate and interval programs available. The absence of a drive motor and lift motor also makes this treadmill easier to clean and maintain than many comparable indoor running machines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like running on a cloud. A cloud that hurts!! Easy to assemble first of all. The track is already done. You’re just attaching the grab rails. A little hard to figure out at first, you quickly start to find your cadence. It essentially forces you to step correctly, avoiding the heel strike. It seriously makes you run better. Since the track only moves under your control, it requires work. Your hams and calves will feel it just like running on the road. The price is hard to swallow. But this is the only “treadmill” I’ll ever run on again. Other than that, I’m hitting the streets for some topography changes. As a training tool, it’s great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Running Like Your Suppose To! Not a fan of regular treadmills as they basically work only your front leg muscles and forget about the glutes and hamstrings. The AirRunner gets everything involved and even a good core workout to maintain proper running posture. Love that I can switch speeds without haveing to press or hold down buttons. I can get really creative with sprint circuits but keep moving when changing speeds. No need to step off and press the increase button 10 times for example. GREAT TECHNOLOGY and has made me actually enjoy running for exercise which i have always hated till now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 weeks in and love it Never tried one before buying it. I read the reviews and knew I wanted an interval training machine for my home gym during the NE winters. It took me a few runs to get comfortable but after 1 week I could hit sprinting speed in a few seconds from stepping on it. I don’t want to run on a motorized treadmill again. The electronic display has more functions then I was expecting and am pleased with this. I will say the treadmill is a beast to pick up. The rollers on the bottom work great but carrying it up a step was no joke. That said the plus side is the treadmill is a total tank and hope it holds up for years. Installation took 15 minutes, it is very simple and I am not handy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for the long run! I've had the Assault Runner for four months! The covers are craked, the handrails wiggle, and the belt makes more noise every day. I though it was great when I got it...I'd like to know what all these rave reviewers think now. This is NOT built for the long run.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Intervals! Bought this a month or so ago, absolutely love it! Makes running intervals so much more fluid and can do CrossFit workouts with short runs easily! Warning though, it is definitely much harder than running on a normal treadmill and your 400m time isn't probably going to be real good on this thing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect addition to my home gym I had a motorized treadmill that burned out after 10 years. I was looking for something with gym quality to replace it. Because it is motorless I am able to put it wherever I want in my gym. It is a smooth run. I can just hop on and go. My 7 year old loves to jump on and start running. It provides me a safe way to run when it is too dark and the streets are too icy to run up in the Northwoods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Painful I used this all the time at the box I was training out of while I was doing crossfit. As a former collegiate sprinter turned distance runner, this is the only treadmill I have ever enjoyed running on. It does not create the same kind of pressure and abuse on your feet, ankles, and knees that a regular treadmill does. Once I have the money set aside I will be purchasing one of these bad boys!
