MobilityWOD Gemini

The MobilityWOD Gemini is one of the first scientifically engineered, naturally contoured mobility tools made specifically for targeting the T-spine and other difficult trigger points. While many traditional foam rollers and massage tools are severely limited in these areas, the Gemini's design is the product of more than a year of research, testing, and refinement, creating an entirely new type of precision roller. It’s another key member of MobilityWOD’s growing family of elite massaging products, and it's now available to order with its own custom accessories, including a stabilizing floor cradle and a new Rogue compatible rig mount (for Infinity and Monster Lite units).

What Sets the Gemini Apart:

  • 1Works Where Standard Rollers Can’t

Unlike a standard cylindrical roller, where pressure is essentially evenly distributed and the contours of the back are hard to target with precision, the curved shape and divided design of the Gemini allow the user to get more leverage and a better deep tissue massage. Particularly optimized for lumbar and thoracic spine mobility, the Gemini can be used on the floor, against the back of a chair during your work day, or as a precision, hand-held roller. The effect not only loosens tight muscles, but can also help with rehab work and reduce the risk of more serious injury over time.

  • 2Developed with Dr. Kelly Starrett

The Gemini was co-designed by MobilityWOD founder and accomplished trainer and physiotherapist Kelly Starrett. Author of the New York Times bestselling book Becoming a Supple Leopard, Starrett has long been at the forefront of new innovations in mobility and recovery tools. "We spent nearly a year getting the Gemini right for the human spine," Starrett says. "We looked at the best tools in the world, integrated them, and made them more effective and more safe. We looked around and no one had yet created what we needed. It’s a game changer."

  • 3Durable Construction

The Gemini is constructed from a thermoplastic elastomer and ABS thermoplastic resin, creating an extremely tough, impact-resistant material that still has the necessary level of give. MobilityWOD’s deep groove pattern isn’t random, but carefully designed to create a consistent “grip” for a more optimized, controllable form of myofascial release.

  • 4Part of the MobilityWOD Series

Kelly Starrett’s MobilityWOD brand is synonymous with the new era of specialized mobility tools, and his products are used every day in high school, college, and pro training rooms, as well as the highest levels of competition in CrossFit, weightlifting, Strongman, and more. The Gemini works best as a complementary piece to other M-WOD products like the Supernova, Battlestar, and MobilityWOD Stick.

  • 5Optional Cradle Accessory

Adding the official Gemini Cradle to your order can bring a whole new dynamic to your mobility regimen. This simple docking station, made from durable SBR rubber, features a rounded base that allows the Gemini to rock back and forth without sliding out from under the targeted area (a common problem with taped LAX balls). This gives the user better leverage for working difficult areas like the T-spine. The cradle also serves as a nice storage holder for your Gemini when not in use.

  • 6NEW - Optional Gemini Rig Mount Accessory

Rogue worked with MobilityWOD to create an exclusive new Rig Mount designed to securely affix the Gemini to any Rogue Infinity or Monster Lite Series unit. This simple attachment features (2) prongs spaced 2” on center and measuring ⅝” in diameter. Each prong comes with a screw-in knob that enables quick and easy set-up and removal from the mounting point—ideal for gyms serving multiple athletes. The Gemini Rig Mount also comes standard with (4) plastic washers to protect the finish of the rack upright, and a T-handle hex key for tightening the screws that keep the Gemini locked into the mount. Please Note: The Gemini Rig Mount will NOT work with Monster Series racks/rigs or the Gemini-Xm "Mush" roller.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AmazWod! I was having pain between shoulder blade and spine, went to a masseuse yesterday thinking it was a knot but the pain was still there. After my massage, I explained to my brother the issue and pain I was having (he's a scientist and Microbiologist, so he really investigates things before doing and using them!). He proudly introduced me to this Wod gadget and a few different ways/exercises to use it along my spine and WOW!!! my pain today is GONE!! I'm happy to be pain free! amazing what one gadget is capable of! I'm definitely getting this!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I was expecting Based on the detail information Mobility WOD (Kelly), provides, I was expecting a product that was superior to lacrosse balls. After a long day of moving rock, well, I was disappointed. The shape was less affective then lacrosse balls for release at the base of the skull, and less affective on shoulders/ scapula area. I found shape was better for spanning spinal column, but, not a good value in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing saves my back I work with it twice per day. Yesterday my Chiropractor had no work to do on me. Due to its shape this tools stays in place exactly where you want it. When you expect pain and tight muscle relief: this is the thing for you!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Buy One. The Gemini completes my full compliment of Mobility WOD tools. I am no Mobility WOD fanboy or anything and frankly I scoffed at mobility for a long time because I did fine at CF without working on it. It wasn't until I shifted my training focus, I realized I was lacking in several areas. Big time. If I could only pick one between the Battlestar, Supernova and Gemini, it would be the Supernova. Having said that, the Gemini is pretty dang sweet. It takes care of stuff the other tools don't quite get. I bought the thing to target my T Spine and boy does it. the possibilities with this thing are vast. After five minutes out of the box, I knew it was a winner. Lax balls do fine but the Gemini is light years better. The only problem with all of it is there aren't enough hours in the day since I could spend hours just using the Mobility WOD tools. The stuff ain't cheap but it is money well spent in the long run.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tool For Deep Tissue Application Great tool for getting those tough spots on the back , Scapula ,etc. A bit expensive but worth it if you want to get those tough spots smoothed out. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Back pains.... GONE. I was skeptical while ordering this.. But this is impressive. The Gemini just penetrates the back and every time I feel pain or stiffness, I just roll with it and poof, gone. Tell you the truth, I don't get back pain even as near as I used to. Worth it, no doubt.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Is pretty decent. I bought this mainly for rolling my Spinal Erector muscles. I've been using various peanuts and other roll devices for 6 years, some homemade. I don't feel this is a step-up at all. The edges are a bit to dull for any real myofacial release in my experience. Also the rubber is to grippy, it can tear are your skin which isn't neccasary if designed with different material. I don't think it was worth the $$$ at all. I still use my 2 softballs taped together and MA Roller as my go to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent tool, sometimes mistaken for a dog toy I bought this after experiencing a serious injury after a heavy combination of cleans and overhead squats. I was unable to move my neck for several days and held my head crooked. After using a lacrosse ball, the supernova, and finally using a peanut- I realized that thoracic spine mobility was something I had never done and was a large part of why I became injured. After using the peanut with a 45 lb plate, I was hooked on moving to the next level. Being a fan of K-Star products, this naturally appealed to me. It is definitely better than a peanut. It still catches on my shirt, but I am learning how to use it better. With a plate or without, the ridges work out my t spine and I have been getting compliments on my mobility ever since I started using it. It is definitely a DIFFERENT tool than the supernova, etc. It is not a "just get ONE" thing because they all do different things. The supernova cannot hit your t spine like this can, and this can't hit those big muscle groups like a supernova can.
