Rogue TB-1 Trap Bar 2.0

Version 2.0 of the Rogue TB-1 Trap Bar features the same general design and dimensions of the original, but with an updated, precision sleeve construction that reduces the starting weight of the bar by more than 25 percent. This makes the TB-1 easier to maneuver without limiting its effectiveness. Simply put, if you want to lift massive weight, this tool still belongs in your arsenal.

The Trap Bar’s hexagonal design and knurled, neutral grip handles make it optimized for performing deadlifts that put less stress on the lumbar spine—since the load is centered and not off axis like a traditional deadlift. This same benefit makes the TB-1 2.0 a useful specialty bar for beginners, as well as athletes dealing with nagging back issues or rehabbing from other injuries.

We manufacture the TB-1 in Columbus, OH, and it's fully compatible with standard Oly plates.

IMPORTANT: Some standard barbell collars may not work on this specialty bar. We recommend using either the Rogue Metal Axle Collars or the OSO Axle Collars.

Specifications:

  • Neutral Grip Handles, Spaced 25” on center with easy-grip knurling, 1.34" diameter
  • Newly Redesigned Olympic Sleeves: Schedule 80 with Welded Caps, 1.91” diameter
  • 16" Loadable sleeve space
  • Finish: Signature black powder coat
  • Weight: 58LB (unloaded)

*PLEASE NOTE: Because the TB-1 Trap Bar 2.0 is finished in our Rogue signature black powder coat, any metal-to-metal contact with the coated sleeves (such as adding and/or removing plates) may cause wear on the finish over time.

Rogue TB-1 Trap Bar 2.0 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built like a tank I was a little hesitant to purchase this given its price relative to the cheaper chrome trap bars that you can buy from a commercial fitness store. I am very happy I went ahead with the purchase. This bar is substantially better than those flimsy chrome bars and the way it is proportioned makes it much easier to balance heavy loads. The footprint is very spacious as well so gives you plenty of room to do things like farmers walks in addition to trap bar deadlift or trap bar bench press. A must have if you are looking for an alternative to conventional deadlift. This is not just a specialty bar, I use it at least once a week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just another great product I switch off deadlifting from standard and trap bars, and I've never used the raised grips on a trap bar. I don't have any mobility limitations, so I've always used inline grips. So, from my perspective there is nothing squirrely about this bar. Respectfully: Like all barbells, the balance is entirely dependent on where you grip. My home gym is stocked with bumpers exclusively so I quickly outgrew my previous trap bar -- that won't happen with this monster. The sleeves are long enough to hold plenty of big bumpers, and the bar is so solid I'm sure it will handle anything I can lift. The grip knurl is perfect. Make sure you have room for it though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from trap bar 2.0 It took me weeks to decide on this bar, got it in today, used it, loved it. I DID NOT lift any crazy amount of weight extra just cause it was a rogue bar, but I just had a cast removed 2 weeks ago from a broken wrist and I was able to lift 238 without any stress or pain in my wrist that I would get from alternating wrist grip on my traditional barbell dead lifts. I ordered rogue 10$ collar springs and they slide right on and off without even squeezen them, so thats just a heads up so you can buy a different type of collar that fits on this bar. I put one layer of black ace athletic tape on the bar sleeves and now the spring collar can get a bite on the bar and it actually made it extremely quiet when I drop it with weights loaded. Also this will protect the paint fading that everybody complains about, so its a win win. I measured how high the grip is from the platform to the actual grip as you can see in the pic so you know about where to expect your reach to be at.(has the 55lb rogue 2.0 plates loaded during measurement which is the same height as any other 10,25,35,). EVERY THING SHIPPED IN 3 DAYS. BAR AND 55,35,10 BUMPER PLATES. In my opinion I think alot of people get the wrong impression of the bar because the description says its great for BEGINNERS, but It is a great bar for when you are recovering from an injury or want to lift very heavy with out the risk of hurting your back or something of that nature. And it also looks great in my little garage gym.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this BAR!! Love this BAR, built extremely well like all ROGUE equip is. The only issue and only my OCD issue here is the logo tag is off center making me crazy. Im sure a reason for it I keep telling myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you use a trap bar, use THIS trap bar When you step in this bar, after loading it up with a ton of 45's, you cannot help but get stoked. You are, after all, about to do one of the most basic Are-You-Strong? movements one can. Then try and STAND UP with every morsel of your being. I love the question: The bar is solid, the weight is solid, but am I solid? If I can lift it, I am, and I have work to do. If I can't, I just have work to do. Thanks for a great bar Rogue.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not What I Expected from Rogue Having the handles flush with rest of the bar makes it feel a lot more unstable unstable. I don't use a trap bar for stability training. I use it to lift a lot of weight for strongman training. I just don't enjoy using this trap bar when compared to ones with raised handles and deeper knurling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should have bought this sooner I was between this bar, the TB-2 and a cheaper one from another company. I ruled out the cheaper bar because it only had 10 inch sleeves which would limit me since I use bumper plates (3 45s on each side would be too wide). I'm sure the TB-2 is also a great bar, but since I have a limited amount of space I figured this bar would be easier to store out of the way (which it does nicely). Plus since this bar is rackable I can always use my spotter arms to put it a little higher. I haven't needed that yet, since the height works well for me (no mobility issues, but also not the most flexible). I use this for heavy "deadlifts," using the straight bar for <80% max DL while I continue to work on form/hip issue. I see this as an addition to squats and DL as opposed to a substitute. Also use it for shrugs, rows, calf raises, shoulder press, farmers carry, and a few other odds and ends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this bar This bar is perfect. You can just deadlift with perfect form without having to think about performing a perfect technique on a typically very complex movement. This will save your lower back
