Highlights From The 2019 Rogue Invitational

A look back at highlights from the inaugural Rogue Invitational in 2019. Held at Rogue Headquarters in Columbus; Ohio; the event provided a new showcase not just for CrossFit’s current stars; but for popular performers of the past in the Legends division. While the surroundings were different; the leaderboard looked familiar; as Tia-Clair Toomey took the women’s title and Mat Fraser bested all competitors in the men’s division. Jason Khalipa; who hadn’t competed in a major individual event in five years; was in vintage form; winning the men’s side of the Legends competition; while the pride of Yorkshire; Sam Briggs; topped the women’s Legend bracket. The 2021 Rogue Invitational (October 29-31) will mark the debut of a new venue: the Dell Diamond stadium in Round Rock; Texas. Toomey and Khalipa will both be back in action; along with an expanded slate of top athletes; including 2020 men’s champ Patrick Vellner and 2021 “Fittest Man on Earth” Justin Medeiros.
