Product Description

Developed by powerlifting legend Donnie Thompson and Spud Inc., the Casual Bowtie is a simple accessory for everyday life, helping to counteract the slouched posture that often develops when working at a computer, driving, or using a cell phone. Made from a softer material than the Thompson Formal Bowtie, this design is optimized for wearing over long periods of time as you go about your day. The webbing harness is light and comfortable and doesn’t encumber movement. It works by subtly encouraging sustained upright posture, easing tension on the muscles behind the shoulders and also applying light compression to the bicep tendons.

Donnie Thompson Casual Bowtie

By wearing the Casual Bowtie on a regular basis, the user can create a sense of muscle memory, as the brain will start instructing better posture long after the bowtie is removed. This can have a huge impact on reducing the problems of shoulder pain and tight pecs, and limiting the risk of more serious injuries down the road.

The Donnie Thompson Casual Bowtie is available in a range of sizes (see size chart).

Great product!
This has helped relax my chest and shoulders. A lot less shoulder pain and noise. I wear it on the treadmill at the house. Only complaint is getting the bowtie positioned properly can be tricky while alone, but once on correctly the compression on your tight chest feels great. I recommend downsizing your bowtie. I had an xl and sent it back for a large. The xl was not loose but not tight for the proper compression I wanted. I'm not a small guy. Just got fitted for a wedding under arm chest measurement was 47". The bowtie now is really tight. Thanks Rouge and Donnie Thompson.

Great product but shipping process done incorrectl
The bow tie is great, really feel my pecs engaging more during exercises. Although whoever shipped it labelled the product as leather goods so I got charged an extra $30 in duties

More helpful than I expected
To be honest this looked like a gimmick to me. Figured I'd try it anyway. Is it helping me with my posture? Not really sure yet after a week or so of fairly regularly wearing it. What I have noticed though is that the compression and tension is helping with some old should pain. Don't know that it will help for anyone else, but I'll probably try the "formal" once this one wears out. Only complaint I have is even though the elastic is surprisingly stout, it still bunches up a bit under the axilla, not really a problem, but mildly annoying.

Good postural support
Easy to put on, a bit tougher to get off but becomes easier with a bit of practice. That being said, it provides nice support and pulls the shoulder blades back and adjusts posture nicely.

Armpit destroyer but it works!
I bought this in hopes to relieve ever present shoulder discomfort during pressing movements. Im in my mid 40s so this is something I’ve just been dealing with for years. I measured on the very upper end of the Large so I decided to go small and bought the L vs the XL. I think I may have been better off with the XL, but after wearing this a few times and constant adjusting I noticed that my shoulder pain was no longer happening after press days. I pretty much only wear this during press movements because it’s rather uncomfortable. It likes to ride up to my pits constantly so I think I have to focus more on my delts as a result. When the positioning is perfect everything is spot on. When it moves around it actually starts to cut my circulation some. I’ll probably try an XL in the future to see if that makes things better but for now the L is management during my main pressing movements. I wear it upside down orientation so that it’s easier to adjust on my own with the handles facing downward- tip from Ryan Humiston.

Cuts off circulation to arms, runs very small
Maybe I had the wrong expectation, but this product is extremely tight and cuts off the circulation to my arms. I am 6' 180 lbs and a medium was way too small, so I got a large and still find it uncomfortable and too tight for durations longer than 10 mins.

Too tight and painful to get on & off
I followed the sizing chart and ordered a small because it aligned with my measurements. It's extremely tight, making it difficult to get off on my own, because of the material, I figured it may stretch out over time. Currently if I wear it for more than 10 min, it does start to feel like its cutting off circulation. The worst part for me is the glued on fabric, it literally scraps up and down my arms trying to get it on and off.

Got me back to lifting heavy
Bought this to help with my shoulder pain that kept me from lifting heavy like I prefer…this thing works! After about 8 weeks of use my posture improved to the point I don’t need it anymore.
