Monster Bells

Co-developed with strongman gear expert Steve Slater, Rogue's Monster Bells bring back the look and function of the classic circus dumbbell in a heavy-duty, 21st century form. These Ohio-made bells are available in four different sizes, with loadable weight capacities ranging from 75LB (with the 6" bell model) to over 250LB with the 12" option. Just add sand, coins, buckshot—whatever works—to create and adjust a custom weight that aligns with your goals and progressions.

Monster Bells have been used routinely in strongman competitions across the globe, where the circus dumbbell clean and press remains one of the most challenging events. If you're not a professional strongman, however, these loadable dumbbells still produce major benefits. Used with other movements like the traditional dumbbell row or Turkish get-ups, they can greatly increase the development of upper body strength, core power, and grip strength. Sometimes it's just good to go old school.

For max weight potential, load with lead shot.

*Important: A 5/8" allen wrench is required to remove/tighten endcap. Allen wrench is NOT INCLUDED

This is a Monsterbell you Need ASAP!
This is a great addition to your arsenal of training method. It has real life application if you implement it. Just wish I would have got the 10" one but its been awhile so I got the 8" to build myself back into the swing of things.

Rogue Monster Bell 8
I was hoping it would be as cool as it looks in the photos on the website. It was way cooler. I have worked a monster-bell exercise into everyone of my routines. Some days my workout will just be whatever can think of doing with this unique piece of equipment. Whatever you do use it for, deadlifts, rowing, shoulder presses, or one arm presses of a physio balance ball, the massive handle makes all the difference, and changes the mechanics of the movement. It's a fantastic and inspiring bit of gear. It would take a real malevolent act of sabotage to damage this item. I expect to have my (yet to be born) grand children, inherit it from children, like a viking battle axe gets handed down through generations.

Basically Indestructible
We have the 10" Rogue Monsterbell. It's a great circus DB for training for Strongman events where the DB maybe more like the Thomas Inch or Cyr style bells. The only complaint I have is that we cannot get all the lead shot out of the bells due to the design of the fill holes. Rather than being flush with the inside, there appears to be a threaded tube inserted that goes well above the the surface of the inside of the bell, causing the lead shot to pool around it and not come out. I've tried to shake it, but it's useless. This design flaw means I can't get all the shot out, and have no idea exactly how much weight is in each bell. Honestly, it should get only 3 stars for this alone because it's such a blundered design flaw.

Rogue Quality. This is a great DB.
Love to hate it. It’s a hard implement to learn and to press. But dang it’s a good one. The quality is amazing. I am very impressed. Love that the actual handle has no knurling or grip. It’s a great circus dumbbell. The price is high, but it’ll last twenty years.

Thought I was strong
The way this thing is built makes it insanely hard to lift. I have the 8'' loaded to 90lbs and it feels like 130lbs. If you thought you had grip strength you probably didn't, buy one of these and you will. The grip just makes it entirely different because you can't get a super solid grasp on it it makes all the core stabilizer muscles go into overdrive. When you press it's so much harder to get a solid drive through the handle as opposed to a normal dumbbell grip. 6 reps and I feel like I just ran a few miles.

Solid DB
I have owned the Slater version of the 10" for around 6 or 7 years now. Dropped it from overhead hundreds of times and no cracks in the welds. The unpainted handles developed a nice patina and good texture for grip. I can load the 10" to 150lbs with sand and that's it packed out 100%. Very easy to load with a funnel but very difficult to remove.

Fill with pennies
I slowly worked my way up to slowly shoulder pressing . Not circus jerking 120 lbs over head. One arm shoulder pressing works so much more than you think. GET TO THE CHOPPER!! Lol. LOVE this weight real results!
