R.A.D ONE V2

Black Tint

The R.A.D. One V2 is a unisex training shoe built to meet the needs of high-performing athletes, both in everyday training and on competition floors. Designed in Portland, Oregon, this updated versatile shoe provides cushioning for plyometrics, added stability for lifting, durability for rope climbs, and is lightweight for gymnastics movements—all without requiring a break-in period. From intense workouts to casual wear, the R.A.D. One V2 transitions seamlessly, offering comfort, performance, and style.

BUILT FOR PERFORMANCE

The R.A.D. One V2 is engineered for peak performance, combining enhanced flexibility and durability with advanced features to elevate your training. The innovative R.A.D. WAVE design, paired with a TPU heel clip, provides 360° stability for lifts while allowing greater freedom of movement during dynamic exercises.

A forefoot flex zone ensures out-of-the-box comfort, while the flexible and durable upper mesh, reinforced toe bumper, and rubber outsole deliver added protection. Its herringbone tread pattern provides superior grip, taking advantage of the most tested traction pattern on the planet. With a 6mm offset for an optimal training position and a springy SwellFoam™ EVA midsole, the V2 is a reliable choice for athletes of all levels.

On the durability front, the all-rubber R.A.D. WAVE wrap with raised ridges shields the foam and upper from rope abrasion, while a reinforced toe bumper adds extra protection for high-wear movements like burpees and toes-to-bar.

R.A.D (“Rally Against Destruction”) is a small, independent shoe company founded by a competitive CrossFit athlete and an experienced athletic shoe designer. Together, they have developed a light springy EVA midsole for the R.A.D. ONE called Swell Foam™, which is partly made from sugarcane (currently 30%), reducing the reliance on traditional, fossil-based materials in the shoe’s construction.

Shoes make me look like I work at Applebees
I’ll be honest — these shoes are absolutely hideous. They make me look like a busboy at Applebee’s. The first version of this style looked decent, but this updated design is a huge downgrade. Comfort and performance are fine — nothing amazing, nothing terrible — but the looks are so bad that I just try not to glance at my feet. Definitely functional, but far from stylish.

Great Shoes for Lifting
I bought these to replace the Nike Metcon 9s for lifting (Olympic lifts and squats and presses mainly). I like these much better than the Metcon 9s. The Metcon 9s got the job done but they felt a bit “clunky”; the R.A.D. One V2 keeps my foot locked in and they are very comfortable for lifting. I feel more explosive doing Olympic lifts with these on. I went with my normal shoe size. They do fit snug but stretched out quite a bit even after one workout. I prefer a more snug/tighter fit personally as I want my feet to feel “locked in” and these certainly fit that profile. Great shoes overall and looking forward to many workouts with them.

Amazing Shoes
I love these shoes. I have worn Metcons for years but so glad I tried something new. I agree with most reviews that the shoes do run slightly small. I ordered a half size larger than I normally wear.

Finally
I am hard to please when it comes to shoes. I have been looking for a solid pair of cross training shoes for years! I wasn’t sold on the “wave” Design on the sides but it is growing on me. Beyond that, these shoes fit great with a widened toe box, snug fit around the rest of the foot. The heel to toe drop is the right amount. I can deadlift heavy and go straight to a 400m run. I will buy multiple pairs. Just need some less vibrant color options.

Comfort is key
I tried another brand after my first pair of Rad’s didn’t hold up as well as I’d hoped. You just can’t beat how comfortable these shoes are.

Second R.A.D. Pair. Love them!
Great shoe! After owning V1 and thoroughly enjoying the feel and support, I was a little nervous about any changes with the V2 that might impact my experience. So far they are great. Just a tad clunky, but the comfort and versatility out way the clunkiness. A great shoe for metcons, Olympic lifting, and short distance running. Provide comfort that save feet from constant beating from training. A tad tight (width), wish there was a wide option, but the my give a bit with wear so not too much an issue. Love the shoe overall.
