Hold on great, very functional. Wish they had some crazy colors/patterns but they are pretty sleek anyway.

I bought these collars for use with a Starting Strength 20kg barbell from Texas Power Bars. This bar has standard sleeves, just under 2" in diameter (verified using digital calipers), so I'm at a loss to explain why these collars were borderline impossible to lock or unlock. I kept using them for a few days, hoping that they would break in. (Pro tip: nothing ever "breaks in." This is a psy-op created by retailers. If a product does not fit immediately, just box it up and return it.) Rather than break in, the collars actually started to break _down_: I noticed that they would stick to the barbell even when unlocked, and that the collars and the barbell had both developed a tacky feel, as if the collars' inner rubber material were degrading somehow. (Maybe coming into contact with the lubricants on the brand-new barbell could have caused this?) By this point I'd had enough, so I drove to the store and bought whatever barbell collars they had, which turned out to be "ETHOS Lock-Jaw Olympic Barbell Collars." The new ones fit and function perfectly so far.
