Product Description

Rogue’s TF-1 Tib Trainer is a specialized weight training tool designed for getting the most out of your toe raises / tib raises. Made in the USA from 11-gauge steel and SCH 40 pipe, the TF-1 includes a machined acetal loading pin that has the same 1.96" diameter as an Olympic barbell sleeve, allowing the use of any standard plates and collar during set-up (customers can also choose to add a compatible OSO Mighty Collar pair to their order via the purchase area). The Tib Trainer weighs 10.8 LBS on its own, and 11 LBS with an OSO Mighty Collar attached.

Weighted tib raises are highly effective for strengthening the tibialis anterior muscle, located along the front of the lower leg from the knee to the ankle. The simple movement can be performed by sitting on a bench pad / raised surface with the legs straight and extended and the feet and ankles hanging off the edge, so that the toes can alternately be raised toward and then lowered away from the athlete. This not only helps build up the tibialis itself, but can also positively impact the neighboring muscles, tendons and ligaments around the knees and ankles, improving range of motion and reducing the risk of recurrent knee soreness and shin splints.

The TF-1 is designed to sit upright with the acetal sleeve angled upward for easy loading and unloading. A collar must be used to secure the plates for use. When ready to train, the athlete simply slides their feet between the two catch tubes–the top tube includes a closed-cell neoprene cover for optimal comfort.

Benefits of Tibialis Training

Toe raises, aka tib raises or anterior tibialis training, is a concentrated movement for strengthening the lower front portion of the leg, between the knee and ankle. A stronger tibialis anterior muscle can help reduce the risk of injury across high-mileage running and walking, and can also positively impact the neighboring muscles, tendons and ligaments around the knees and ankles, improving range of motion and helping to prevent recurrent knee soreness and shin splints. To use the Tib Trainer for this exercise, simply load your desired weight on the loading pin, attach the collar, then–while sitting on a bench or raised surface–slide your feet between the two catch tubes and extend your legs straight out with your feet and ankles hanging over the edge. Repeat raising your toes toward you and then lowering them back away from you.

Excellent and over built TF-1!
Best designed TF-1, Over built and do exactly what it suppose to do for the legs exercises. Foot print is small and I hang it up using a Matador Hanger with the Monster Strip. The easiest workout as I just load up the weight plates I need and put my feet on the end of the bench, and then do my reps. Effective and goes well with my leg day exercises at my small home gym. If you are as serious about training legs as I am, this is a MUST have for the home gym! I highly recommend this!!! You have to wear your gym shoes as it is more comfortable doing so with the TF-1. As the weight of the TF-1 will make your bare feet uncomfortable.

effective training tool made in USA
This bar provides the most effective way I've ever used to train the tibialis anterior. It is solid and feels extremely well made. You realize the premium price is justified once you hold it in your hands and train with it several times. I use it every training session (3X per week) since it is low impact and yields both functional and aesthetic benefits. It does seem to have alleviated my shin splints that tend to crop up when I walk at certain speeds on the treadmill for a prolonged period. Since I've only had it for a few weeks it remains to be seen how it will hold up long term, but I am confident it will last. It also feels great to train with gear made by American craftsmen.

Next level quality
Amazing way to load your tibialis. There are a few different choices very similar to this out there but none that I have seen with the quality of what Rogue offers.

Tib bar is solid!
This thing is great. It’s pretty pricey but it’s built incredibly solid with nice touches to it. I’d never trained my tibialis specifically before and it crushes you the first few uses. Another VERY solid piece from Rogue… well worth the money for a device not much else trains. Way better than trying to use a dumbell to do this exercise.

Great for a different use as well!!
Missed doing my quad extensions on my old equipment (Bowflex Revolution) after I got my RM-6, and have been looking for a way to replicate the motion. Saw this new item, and looked at some YouTube videos about the multiple uses for these, so took a chance and bought it. Could not be more pleased. I do have the Rogue AB-3 adjustable bench, which is needed for what I am doing. I have the bench at position three, for reference I am 6'4", so long legs. I sit with my rear on the end of the bench, get my feet into the unit, then slide myself down the bench until the end of the bench is directly under my knees. At this point, now my feet and the TF-1 are in the air, I grab the bench with my hands behind my hips, and now I'm in the perfect position for quad extensions. Amazing!! Please check out the YouTube videos for the alternate uses for these, there are many in addition to what I am doing. Odd to say, but not using this for the intended purpose, but could not love it more!!
