V2 Castro Rig

The Next Generation of the Ultimate Backyard Gym

The V2 Castro Rig takes the key components from the original Castro Rig and builds upon them for a next level strength training experience. From pull-ups to squats, bench work, ropes climbs, and everything in between, the V2’s 15-foot, 3x3” 11-gauge steel uprights offer unyielding strength, with additional 3x3” beams included at the top of the rig for added stability. The V2 Castro Rig still features the adjustable Dirty South Pull-Up Bar and two separate squat rack positions, with two sets of Rogue’s Monster Lite J-cups and concrete anchors also included standard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Backyard/Garagegym rig! You WILL need a buddy to help unload this rig off of the UPS Truck. UPS can not lower it with their lift due to the length of the 15' beams. It takes a minimum of three people to set this thing up due to its weight and height. i recommend a minimum 12'x12' concrete slab for this rig. The one pictured is 10'x12'. I substituted the dirty south bar for the V2 pull up bar and its mounted to the 70" crossbeam. I have some gymnastic rings but I take them off when I don't use them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rig Got one of these about a year ago, and it has been stellar. The pullup bar supports both the height of myself and my wife. Kids are alway swinging on the rings I leave setup. Anyway, it's awesome to have in the backyard. Just know that when its shipped, it is shipped to your doorstep not to your house. The ups guy very nicely asked me where my forklift was. Fortunately, he cut a couple of the straps holding it together and helped me unload it a piece at a time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best rig for your home I just bought this, only took 2 hours to set it up. You can do the majority by yourself, just grab a few friends when you are ready to connect the front and back pieces and then to stand it up. It is very durable. I recommend a 3/4 drill bit with a rotohammer when drilling concrete anchors. Best rogue buy yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded Expectations Ultimately, this should be the rig to buy for a home box. I ordered my rig with all beams and a facemount pull-up bar attachment (in lieu of the Dirty South) for more rigidity. Once I added the trawler arms, I now have rope climb and ring stations galore (the kids use them as often as I do...). The rig has survived the Utah Winters like a champ; powdercoating is more than up to the task of the elements. I touched the base up with spray-on bed liner (rubberized) to further protect the legs from the accumulated snow. While the inner steel is showing oxidation (rust), my Spring touch-up with paint will remedy the situation. Climbs to the top of the 15' uprights wobble the entire rack, but this would be easily fixed with some diagonal / lateral bracing as the rig grows to accommodate my neighbors, who are always wondering what is happening in back yard ... misery loves company. Ships on a large 15ft palette ... arrange to have some buddy labor there to help you unload and erect this Monster. Concrete anchors are a must; ensure your concrete guy understands what you intend to do with his slab so you can get reinforced footers to support the torsional forces of the rig.
