What Sets the Westside Power Bar Apart:

  • 1Developed with Louie Simmons

We worked directly with legendary powerlifter, strength coach, and Westside Barbell founder Louie Simmons to fine-tune this bar into one worthy of both the Rogue and Westside names. Every element of Version 2.0, from the knurling to the finish to the endcaps, was held to a champion’s standard. We believe this bar ranks with some of the best power bars ever made, but the words “Louie Simmons Approved” say more than we ever could.

  • 2205,000 PSI Steel

The Westside Power Bar’s 29MM diameter steel shaft now has a tensile strength of 205,000 PSI, delivering superior rigidity and virtually zero whip/flex. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the bar also features a snap-ring design and quality bronze bushings for a smooth, consistent feel. Includes a lifetime warranty against bending.*

  • 3Aggressive Knurl

We updated the knurl pattern for Version 2.0 of the Westside Power Bar, turning again to Louie Simmons to test and refine an aggressive, precision powerlifting knurl—deep and coarse without being uncomfortably sharp or abrasive. A center knurl is also included for added “stick” to the back during squats.

  • 4Use It With These Other Rogue Products

Westside Power Bar owners can use the bar in conjunction with a broad range of other top caliber Rogue powerlifting products, from the Westside Bench and R-3 Power Rack to deadlift bar jacks, Wagon Wheel plates, and Calibrated Steel Plates.

  • 5Black Zinc Finish

The Westside Power Bar has a distinct look, featuring a Black Zinc coating on the shaft and sleeves, plus new green endcaps with the Rogue and Westside logos. Black Zinc has one of the lowest oxidation rates of any barbell finish, meaning it requires less upkeep and will look like new over the long haul, now matter how much abuse you put it through.

F Scale™
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

Oxidation Rate
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Rogue Westside Power Bar 2.0 is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good strong bar The bar is great! I have no concerns of it ever becoming truly "damaged". The knurling seemed more aggressive than other bars at first, but it's been about a year since I've lifted so it may just be my hands. The coating kind of sucks to be honest though. Nearly every lift leaves black chips in my palm. It's more annoying than anything, but clearly the coating is not very durable. The HG collars have easily distorted the coating on the sleeves. i used to have a rogue cerakote bar, I would recommend one of those more as the coating seemed to be alot stronger, it felt better in the hands, and it never chipped off into the palm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great as a secondary bar This is a nice barbell. The black on black zinc coating is beautiful. As many other's have stated, the bar arrived with a few knicks in the zinc coating, here and there on the sleeves, but they're small and nothing to get in a twist about. Where the blemishes are located, I would cause wear anyway from general use. So, no big deal, The knurling is good, but not quite as good as my stainless steel OPB. The zinc coating fills in some of the knurling, causing it to have less bite and resulting in a feel that is slightly less grippy. But I knew this going in, so again, not a big deal. I purchased this bar to serve as a backup and to use for ignorant lifts I wouldn't feel comfortable using my stainless OPB to do, like heavy rack pulls and such. So, when it gets beat up, I won't be bothered. That said, if you can only purchase one barbell, I wouldn't recommend the Westside power bar. I would recommend the all stainless steel OPB. It's knurling is sharper, and it's corrosion resistance is superior. But if you're in the market for a secondary stiff bar that can take a beating but also has a bit of corrosion resistance and just looks cool, this is a great barbell for that purpose.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stiff, and aggressive knarling I've had it for about 4 month. It's a stiff bar, but I was aware of that going in. The knarling is aggressive too. One collar spins a little slower than the other, but I guess I can deal with that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bar. Holds up better than stated. This is a great rendition of the OPB. Literally this is an OPB will black sleeves and green end caps, so you are paying a premium on the aesthetics of this bar. So this is a great option if you care about that, otherwise just go with an OPB with bright zinc sleeves if you want the same corrosion resistance for a cheaper price... I personally love the look of the bar and have found the coating to hold up well on the sleeves. I use plates with machined steel inserts, so other users may have a different experience. The knurl is definitely not sharp or overly aggressive. I would describe the knurling as being moderate, but sticky and comfortable. I use this bar as a daily driver for squats and deadlifts. It feels comfortable working in higher rep ranges with this bar as it doesn’t tear up your hands. Would recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good bar but the coating and the sleeve ribbing I also own an Ohio Power Bar which I’d rate 5. The black zinc coating of the WBP wears off each time I slide a plate on and off. It already looks like I’ve had it for 5 years when it’s been more like 2 months. Decent knurling though OPB is better, less rough but still coarse enough to grip really well. And the ribbing on the sleeves is too deep, so makes an awful noise when loading weights. Good construction and rigidity. It just doesn’t compare favorably to the cheaper OPB from the same manufacturer. That one gets 5 stars for sure
