Rogue 45LB Ohio Power Bar - Stainless Steel

This is the premier power bar in the Rogue arsenal; equipped with a stainless steel shaft and sleeves for a superior feel and unmatched oxidation resistance.

The Stainless 45LB Ohio Power Bar is manufactured in Columbus, OH, and includes a zero-flex 200,000 PSI tensile strength shaft, quality bronze bushings, and 16.25” of loadable sleeve length.

All of our 29mm Ohio Power Bars also feature single powerlifting knurl marks and center knurling, machined in a pattern that’s deep and coarse without being sharp or abrasive. This makes the bar a perfectly honed workhorse for the bench, squat, and deadlift.

Available Sleeve Finishes: Chrome, Stainless Steel, Proprietary Matte Back

Note on Stainless Steel: Barbells made from raw steel are not plated and therefore marks from the machining process may be visible. Stainless steel shafts will show CNC processing marks. These are cosmetic and will not impact the barbell's performance

Please Note: Rogue recommends using a synthetic bristle brush, NOT a steel brush, to clean a stainless steel shaft. Steel on steel can cause rusting over time. See more tips here: Bar Care & Maintenance.

KEY FEATURES OF THIS OHIO POWER BAR

Stainless Steel
1

Stainless Steel

No finish offers better oxidation resistance than stainless steel, and this version of the Ohio Power Bar features a stainless shaft and the option for stainless sleeves. Stainless steel is low maintenance for gym owners, and eliminates worries about chipping or wearing down the finish on the bar’s sleeves. As noted, we recommend using a synthetic bristle brush, NOT a steel brush, to clean a stainless steel shaft.

200,000 PSI Tensile Strength
2

200,000 PSI Tensile Strength

The Stainless Ohio Power Bar’s 29MM diameter steel shaft has a tensile strength of 200,000 PSI, delivering superior rigidity and virtually zero whip/flex. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the bar also features a snap-ring design and quality bronze bushings for a smooth, consistent feel.

Aggressive Knurl
3

Aggressive Knurl

The bar includes single powerlifting marks and a center knurl, each featuring a deep, coarse pattern that produces a reliable grip / stick without being sharp or abrasive. Perfecting this knurl pattern is both a science and an art. Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus on new Haas machines (built in the USA) and fine-tuned and personally tested by the Rogue team.

Lifetime Warranty
5

Lifetime Warranty

The quality construction of the Stainless Ohio Power Bar is backed by Rogue’s Lifetime Warranty against bending. This is a barbell equipped for high intensity, everyday use. Please Note: The warranty does not cover damage due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user, i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage. Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

F SCALE™

The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

OXIDATION RATE

The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

OPB SS
Spent a lot of time deciding on which power bar to buy for my home gym. The ratings kept pointing me back to this option, so that's what I went with. This thing is flawless, I am beyond impressed. functions well on bench, squat, and deadlift. If you can afford to pay the extra for full stainless, I would highly recommend as it feels excellent in hand.

Amazing knurling
Knurling on this bar is a thing of beauty. Grippy yet not too aggressive on the skin. I went with SS everything, and while it did make my wallet cry I know it was a good investment that’ll last me a lifetime. It’s true what they say, buy nice or buy twice.

Great bar, got the stainless steel. This is the grippiest bar I’ve ever used and it’s amazing. Don’t worry about rust and get stainless steel, trust me.

Its great but overkill
So ive been using this bar for a couple months now at my home and i have to say the bar is solid. It has a minimal play which is normal for all bars and its not excessive by any means. The bearings are super smooth and the bar has no whip whatsoever. Its a very good bar but with some flaws. The knurling on the bar is a little too excessive for standard lifting. The site says its aggressive without being sharp, I find its sharp. It tends to rip off most of my calluses from my hand faster than it can be repaired. That being said if you're looking for a bar that doesn't slip out of hand during heavy heavy deadlifts(again no whip so not ideal), this bar will grip your skin aggressively. I would recommend it for more heavy singles to reduce wear and split cuts on the hands. The knurling was aggressive enough to start to filing down the metal on my bench/squat stands so i made pvc clips out of some 1inch pvc pipe and duct taped them on to protect my equipment and from damaging the bar. One point i dont like about the sleeves are they have a fine round knurling on it which i fine has no purpose for anything other than maybe plate friction/stability(making sure plates don't move) during olympic lifts, which you wouldn't want to do with this bar anyways because of the center knurling. As aggressive as the knurling is, it chews my hands with hook grip so with the center knurling, it would wreck your neck. The down side to the knurled sleeves are it has friction so when taking plates off or even on during dead lifts, the plates dont want to come off the bar, making it harder to load or deload. Plus, its wearing out the centers of my plates prematurely. I forget if that was an option or not but a smooth sleeve would be better for this bar in my opinion. If you're looking for a bar that has no slip and no whip, and can grip the back of your neck and not move during squats or other lifts, you've found the right bar. Its a solid piece of equipment but far from a jake of all lifts kind of bar. In my opinion its overkill for the amount of weight that im moving with it(200-400lbs). Its a little much for a basic home gym. I would recommend this to someone if it was the right person, but its more for a specialized type of lift like a P.R heavy squat or press. But with the amount of wight i push, lift or pull, i chould have chosen a different bar. I dont regret buying at all, i just wanted to note that but know what you're buying. Its a solid aggressive bar as stated. Hope this review helps.

I cant seem to find a single problem
Ordered the fully stainless OPB. Shipped very quick and better yet arrived in oregon in perfect condition. I have visually scanned the bar multiple times looking for imperfections, I am happy to announce I have yet to find any damage to the sleeves or the knurling. Machined perfection. I had a crappy cheap oly bar before this and wow what a revelation this bar is. Love the knurling on it. Buy once, cry once fellow homegym owners.
