Rogue P-3 Pull-Up System

Manufactured in Ohio using the same 11-Gauge Steel as our full-scale rigs and racks, the versatile Rogue P-3 Pull-Up System is a single, compact unit designed for ceiling mounts (for a ceiling height of 8 to 9’6”) or wall mounts.* Once anchored securely to concrete or wood studs, the P-3 gives you the option of a bar position at either 14” or 22” from the wall/ceiling.

The complete P-3 Pull-Up System comes standard with a 52” Pull-Up Bar, and can serve as a dependable rings station, as well. If you want to expand the set-up for more athletes, you can daisy-chain additional brackets together by spacing them out 3-4 feet apart, then running a single 1” steel tube/1.25” OD pipe through all of the brackets (4 brackets, for example, would create a 12' pull-up bar). In most cases, this type of pipe can be purchased at your local hardware store.

*To allow for more space for kipping pull-ups, the larger P-4 Pull-Up System may work better for wall-mounting, as well as for ceiling-mounts in garage gyms with ceilings higher than 9’6”.

  • Depth: 14" or 22" from wall/ceiling

Rogue P-3 Pull-up System is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 89.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid. I just installed the p3 pull up system 3 days ago. So far, it is working great. I was skeptical about the durability in the studs at first. I mounted directly on the drywall into the standard studs 48" apart. The standard for studs is at a distance is 12" apart. I used a stud finder to find the each edge of the stud and put the lag screw (3/8 x 3.5") right in the middle. I weigh 236 and have already logged close to 200 pull ups since I mounted it. I'll add another review in a few months or so to give an update of how its doing. This is definitely worth it. I got tired of using the door pull up bar (p90x style) after a few years. I figured it was time for an upgrade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pull-up bar, but be careful installing! This is a great piece of equipment. The instructions that came with it say you can use 3/8" or 1/2" diameter lag bolts. I used 1/2" and predrilled with the appropriate sized standard length drill bit, following the instructions, doing one on each side before the last two. The problem with a standard length drill bit is that the frame prevents you from drilling a full length pilot hole on the top and bottom lags. Maybe it was a bad stud, but the 2nd and 3rd lags ended up splitting the stud vertically. I fixed the 2x6 stud with some 5.5" GRK 3/8" RSS fasteners. The rack and stud are rock solid, no complaints. Long story short, use an extra long drill bit or use 3/8" lags!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Bar, Easy To Install So this bar is exactly as described and very solid. I mounted this to my garage ceiling with no problems and it works very well. My only complaint as others have stated, and yes I realize it's disclosed in the description, is that the system does not include any lag bolts or washers to install with. If cost is an issue then I don't think anyone would complain if you raised the price $5-$10 and included the necessary hardware to install on arrival saving the customer the hassle of running down to their local hardware store. If this isn't possible it might be nice to recommend the correct size of bolts to be used on the product description where you state that the hardware isn't included so customers can pre-purchase the necessary hardware while the item is being shipped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Pull up bar! This is a very well made, high quality bar. I looked into many different pull up bars before I went with this one. The metal is sturdy and the black powder coat is top quality. I would definitely buy again. I mounted (4) 60" 2x10's to my gym wall using 5 1/2" lag bolts. I then mounted the pull up bar to the boards as well as the studs behind it. This isn't necessary but I liked the look and it provides a little bit more support. I also painted the boards with black chalk board paint so now I can keep track of my workouts/ reps right there on the boards.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product for low ceilings with modification My husband installed this in our basement with a 7’9” ceiling and the higher insert slot is perfect. I’m 5’7 and he’s 5’9. He’s planning on cutting the lower portion of the brackets off since it’s possible to hit your head on them (don’t worry he’s a tradesman) but it would be excellent to have a version specifically for low ceilings with shorter brackets. It’s difficult to please everyone in every situation though. The material is excellent quality, and while I echo the sentiments about the mounting hardware from other reviews I also know my husband probably would have thrown included hardware in the trash and gotten better hardware anyways.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Solid I labored over this purchase for quite awhile, but am very happy with this system. Shipping was crazy fast, ordered on Tuesday, received on Friday. Very easy install, as log as you find the middle of the stud! Install is quite a bit easier if you have an impact driver, if not do it the old fashioned way! As for the unit itself, very sturdy and so far hasn't come close to budging even after my first workout today, and I am 6'2" 230! Solid product, great company... Made in #merica! Buy it. You will, not be disappointed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great system I bought this system about a week ago and installed it today shortly after it arrived. The only gripe I have is that none of the necessary hardware was provided for the installation, nor does Rogue offer it as an accessory to purchase. I was under the impression that it would be included. After a quick trip to the hardware store, it only took me about 10-15 minutes to install the rig. I weigh 240 and I did 5x10 of weighted pull ups. Very sturdy rig, simple installation. This is the quality I've come to expect from Rogue. Look no further.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny At first I bought a competitor pull-up bar but it was much too large for my 7.5 ft tall basement. Returned that. Bought this. Shipping was super fast. It’s as solid as can be. Packing was perfect. No blemishes upon receipt. Well-crafted all around. Measured multiple times before drilling pilot holes. Definitely benefited from an impact driver which I had. Power drill is a must. My supply/ shopping list was: 1. 3/8” by 5” lag screws 2. Pack of washers 3. 1x4” pre-painted 8-foot beam of pine—with a hacksaw I cut two 25” pieces so the brackets themselves wouldn’t dent into the drywall over time. Painted the ends. 4. Impact driver with appropriate socket (3/8” adapter; and a 3/8”-to-9/16” socket) 5. Power drill plus a drill bit (picked up an extra long 1/4” drill bit just to be sure; also used a 3/8 initially before drilling with the 1/4”) 6. Long ruler with a level 7. Stud finder (magnetic kind)
