Rogue Z Hyper

The Rogue Z Hyper upgrades several features from our standard RH-2 Reverse Hyper machine, including a new bolt-together design (for easier portability), a beefed up 3x3” 11-gauge steel construction, and adjustable front handles (ranging from 2-14" from pad edge) that allow users of any size to custom-tailor their desired hand placement. Comparable machines on the market can cost more than $1,500, but the Z Hyper's efficient design makes it a uniquely affordable choice.

Manufactured in the USA, the Rogue Z Hyper is approved by Louie Simmons himself as an effective tool for physical therapy, back rehab exercises, and for regular everyday training—particularly for those looking to reduce back tightness and strengthen the hamstrings, glutes, and hips. Like the RH-2, the Z Hyper includes an oversized pad (35" wide x 24" deep x 3" thick) with an extended back lip to keep the user’s hips from resting on any metal/hard surface. A 3x3” step on each side of the unit makes it easier to climb aboard, and rubber feet are included on the base for extra grip/stability and floor protection.

The two plate storage posts on the Z Hyper each have 10.5" loadable length. With the addition of an optional base crossmember (bolts below the handles), users can also attach bands to the storage posts for greater resistance and more variation.

*Rogue’s Reverse Hyper Roller Attachment features a quick release design for easy transitions from the hyper straps to the roller system.

The Science Behind the Reverse Hyperextension Machine:

Rogue’s Reverse Hypers decompress the spine and produce no vertical compression on the spine at all. This simple device allows for dynamic strength development in the concentric phase, while serving as a rehabilitation mechanism in the eccentric phase. The spine is gently stretched and depressurized during the process, creating--in essence--an internal pumping mechanism, filling the spinal column with spinal fluid and the lower back muscles with blood. Anyone who has injured their back knows that the pressure needs to be relieved and circulation restored to the injured area in order to rehabilitate. The reverse hyperextension machine offers one of the best methods for achieving this.

Great machine with some flaws.
We have two reverse hyper machines, and this one was the top of line and most recommended by others, so we decided to get one. To give you context, we have guys ranging from 120lbs to 350lbs working on this machine, and it's solid. There is a big of squeaky noise at the top range, but nothing to worry about there. It is solid built, you have to put it together, and you need a few socket wrenches and probably one helper to help you. I put it together by myself, and took about a good 3 hours to do so, and needed one person to hold up the top part to join the sides together into 1 piece. The overall piece is heavy, needs two people to lift it to move it. But the device is very solid built, does not move. The con is that if you do use any bumper plates on this device, it will hit your leg at the top range. We also got the reverse hyper roller -- but that roller is only so-so - I wouldn't recommend it if you have people going full range of motion because it kicks the person forward at almost close to parallel. So just stick with the rope. We load up about 200kg to on some reps and it's still pretty solid (the rope - default attachment) seems to be ok with it. Although, I am concerned that we may need something a little stronger. The other con is that, if you are looking for full traction, I think the device should probably been built with a bit of a forward slant to it, so that there is more stretch and traction. Otherwise, it's OK, lots of room for improvement.

Still works if you're 6'5"
I'll keep it short and sweet. If you're 6'5" this will still work your feet won't touch the ground. Any taller and you might have to get creative. Good machine though!

Exactly what I was looking for!
Exactly what I was looking for for my small gym. Arrived in perfect condition (the packaging department is on point as usual), it was easy to assemble, and fit perfectly in my weight area. Great compliment next to my GHD!

Lower Back Lifesaver
I've been having trouble with lower back pain on and off for 21 years. I've tried everything to fix my lower back but nothing worked for me until I came across the Rogue Z Hyper. I did a lot of research before buying it and there were a lot of positive reviews on it so I decided to give it a try. The Z Hyper is a very heavy exercise machine coming in many parts and it's really not very hard to put together. I followed the instruction manual and it took me about 3 hours because I did everything myself. I started using the Z Hyper with 10lbs only and in a couple of days, my lower back was feeling better. After 2 months, I was able to do 50lbs. Standing for 30-45 minutes usually will make my lower back sore but now I'm able to stand for a much longer time without feeling sore. Do I recommend buying the Z Hyper? Yes and worth every penny!!

Marvelous machine
I have had a home gym now since 1993. A rack, barbell with plates, bench and dumbells. I have decided to get a little more advanced in some of my training. I decided posterior chain movements were going to become incorporated as part of my training. I purchased the Rogue Abrams 2.0 (excellent piece) and the Z Hyper. I do have lower back pain and the Z Hyper certainly and definitely eliminates any pain. It really does work for me, although it seems to be a more temporary relief. While using the machine, my lower discs feel fantastic. This machine engages a large amount of muscles along the back of your body. I would say its an excellent work out to add to any routine. The machine itself is of course extremely well made. Heavy duty and comfortable. I purchased it with all the options. The optional cross brace makes assembly a little easier. Everyone says its large and they were correct. But, it was worth it for me to put into my basement gym. One other thing I like is the Z Hyper breaks down so it can be carried down stairs into a basement for example. Making a commitment to buy something like this, I wanted a US made quality piece in my home. Fantastic machine.
