Monster Collegiate Half Racks

Built with 90" uprights at the back of the unit and 100" uprights in the front, the Rogue Monster Collegiate Half Rack utilizes new angled crossmembers to produce a finished look at the top of the rack with added height in front for pull-ups. We’ve also included longer 30" front feet, which provide additional stabilization and allow athletes to perform band work without having to be inside the rack itself.

The Monster Half Rack features the same 3x3" 11 Gauge Steel construction and 1” hardware as our standard Monster power racks, and it’s available here in two formats, each designed with the space efficiency needs of a high school or college training facility in mind.

Single Monster Half Rack: Compact unit for individual athlete use. 24" inside depth. 62" x 53" footprint. Includes (1) optional pull-up bar, (4) band pegs, (8) plate storage posts, (1) laser-cut Rogue nameplate in red.

Double Monster Half Rack: 2-in-1 unit with connected, back-to-back Half Racks and storage in the middle. Allows two athletes to train at the same time. 24" inside depth on both sides. 117" x 53" total footprint. Includes (2) optional pull-up bars, (8) band pegs, (8) plate storage posts, (1) laser-cut Rogue nameplate in red.

Note: Crossmember and J-Cup selections apply to both sides of the unit when configuring the Double Half Rack.

Both versions of the Monster Collegiate Half Rack are made in the USA and finished in our MG Black Powdercoat. They’re also compatible with a wide range of Monster Series add-ons and accessories. From pull-up bar style to J-cup type, you can customize your Monster Half Rack by comparing the options below and making your selections from the dropdown order menu.

1.125" diameter bar with stainless finish and choice of smooth or knurled barbell-style grip. Mounting holes 6” on center.

28.5MM diameter cambered bar with a Black E-Coat finish and extended knurling to close-grip portion of the bar. Mounting holes 6" on center.

A Monster crossmember designed with 2 gussets for added strength and a flush mount with the top of the 100" uprights. Does NOT function as a pull-up bar.

Mountable attachment includes bar grips and welded spheres (3" and 4" diameter) for wide, narrow, pronated, supinated, and neutral grip styles in one station.

Features (2) 1.125" diameter, 360-degree rotating handles that can be set at (7) adjustable lock-in width positions, from 4.5" to 54.5". Black textured powder-coat finish.

Monster Standard J-Cup Pair

Our default J-Cup selection. Features UHMW plastic within the cup itself to protect the bar's knurling, as well on the backside and the clasp to protect uprights from scratching/chipping. 1000LB rating. Depth of 3.75"

Monster Sandwich J-Cup Pair

The Monster Sandwich J-cup has a UHMW plastic core which offers full protection against your barbell knurling. It also has UHMW plastic on the backside to protect the rack from chipping. 1000LB rating. Depth of 2.5"

Monster 2” Sandwich J-Cup Pair

The side plates fit into a recessed, machined plastic core to prevent metal-to-metal contact. The hardware is also recessed, preventing the bar or a user’s hand from scraping against them. Welds are insides the side plates for a clean edge, and UHMW plastic is featured on the clasp and back plate to prevent damage to the uprights. A thin piece of rubber on the side of the clasp also softens contact between the clasp and upright when the J-Cup is swung into place.1000LB rating. Depth of 2.5"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Setup for (my) Basement Gym Be sure your ceiling height exceeds 100" before buying but know that you can adjust the position of the pull up bar along the front posts to suit your needs (I set my bar at 87" and it works perfect for me). If deciding between the Monster and the Monster Lite half racks, the cost of the attachments should factor into your decision since the former kitted out will cost you a lot more than the latter. Also look elsewhere if you want to work inside the rack (unless you choose not to install the weight horns) as there isn't enough space (24") with the weight horns in place. Consider ordering the shims at the time of purchase. You may need them even if you think your floor is level (though any shim will work). For us Canadian buyers, you will save a lot of money on shipping if you purchase everything at once. I own several Rogue products and have never been disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Addition! Couldn’t be more happy with this purchase! Love the quality and space efficiency. Built a 10x16’ shed in the backyard for a home gym and it’s the perfect solution to maximize the space. Neighbors are jealous so it’s a win!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best decision I made for the gym Check out my full review at Garage Gym Guru on YouTube. Smaller footprint and still fully functional for what I need. Everything done in the rack can be done outside the rack. Looks great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid setup for smaller spaces Had a small space, and wanted weight storage on the rack. Ordered a custom setup with flat top crossmember by calling Rogue. Very easy customization. Love how solid it is, and the 1 inch bolts look awesome. Setup includes safety spotter arms, and its a great solution. Front legs give me peace of mind when working alone that it won’t tip forward when working outside the rack. My old gym had Monster Lite equipment, and I’m very impressed with how much more substantial Monster series is. Really glad I went with Monster vs Monster Lite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very cool! It works well not only as a half rack but also as a power rack I think it is a simple but robust and sophisticated design. Especially the angled crossmembers and angled feet are my favorite parts The rogue team was willing to respond to order changes and custom heights. It arrived safely in Japan! And it fits perfectly in my garage! Thanks to rogue products and staff! !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rack Not alot of reviews on this and was conflicted between this and the rm6. chose this becuase I used my previous rack as a half rack and have enough stuff in my gym that I didnt want any space to be wasted. thing looks great in person. i added the rotating chin bar, landmine and sadwich j cups and the leg roller. The monster is defintely worth the upgrade, better paint, laser cut holes, lined attachments, better designed attachments, and some of the attachments like the rotating chin bar and the utility seat both of which i have are monster only attachments... the weight storage pisn are keyhold design and are far far nicer than the rml ones and give more flexibility as to where you store the weights as there is only one attachment point needed with the keyhold. only negative is the some of the holes to bolt the rack are too close to the upright so aren't useable. so only one bolt per leg and per foot, i have over 1200 lbs on the pins...on back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly versatile rack! First: this rack like everything from Rogue is very well built! I love the numbered holes feature the Monster series racks have that allow for quick adjustment of spotter arms and J-cups. There are so many add-ons that allow you to customize this rack for anyones needs. Great value for the money! this rack is in a 8X11 space and really maximizes the small area that I have to be able to do just about anything I would like. I would also highly recommend using the Zeus gym builder. This was extremely helpful when trying to figure out what would maximize this space but still leave plenty of room to work.
