Rogue HR-2 Half Rack

The customizable Rogue HR-2 Half Rack can be installed as a stand-alone unit or by converting an existing Monster Lite Series squat stand .

Manufactured in Columbus, Ohio, the HR-2 features the same 2x3" 11-gauge steel base and 48" x 49" footprint as the SML-2, but incorporates an additional pair of 3x3” 11-gauge steel uprights and 17” crossmembers in the back of the unit. This gives the rack a huge amount of additional storage capacity and almost a foot and a half of inside depth for benching, rack pulls, and more. The Half Rack also offers a range of customizable options to best suit your needs—including the optional plate storage and pin/pipe safety sets, and a selection of different heights for the uprights themselves (90” or 108” for the front; 70” or 90” for the back).

IMPORTANT: If you already own a Rogue Monster Lite Squat Stand (SML-1, SML-2, or SML-3) and wish to convert it to an HR-2, we offer a Half Rack Conversion Kit that would include all the components and hardware you’ll need.

Solid rack
I bought this rack for my garage home gym. I have an approx 12’ x 12’ space with 10’ ceilings. I rent the house and didn’t want to bolt anything to the wall so I went with the HR-2 half rack. I bought it with a few other things and it all shipped within 5 weeks as one complete package with nothing missing. Set up was super easy, it took me about 1.5 hours by myself. The rack is even more solid and sturdy than I expected and holds very steady with my weight for toes to bar, pull ups, etc. I added a pair of long and short post plate storage as well as the monster lite spotter arms and this thing is solid. I couldn’t be happier with this setup and would recommend to anyone whether you have a small area or a large area.

Exactly what we wanted
It was easy to assemble. High quality (as is the case with all Rogue products I’ve purchased). Very stable, fit into our space perfectly. Going to use it for years to come.

Center piece of my gym
I purchased the HR-2 over a full rack because of basement ceiling height concerns. After speaking with customer service I was presently surprised that the pull up bar could be mounted at a lower position providing enough room that it would pass under my rafters. I strongly suggest anyone will low ceiling height consider this option. I don't think Rogue advertises the flexibility of this platform enough. To be able to upgrade a stand, to a half rack, to a full rack is an option I think people would really consider. P.S. With this configuration I was able to secure one of the uprights to a rafter and made this half rack as stable as a commercial rig.

Sturdy, Versatile, and Compact
This rack is amazing! Granted I’ve only been using it for just over a week. I got the landmine attachment for it as well, works perfectly. This rack is quite sturdy for everything I’ve done with it. Build quality is superb, will never have to worry about any weight that I’m lifting or stashing on it. Buy this thing if you’re looking for a sturdy, less expensive, quality half rack. You will not be disappointed.

Everything you expect from a Rogue cage!
I purchased HR-2 hack rack and different accessories on October 21 and they arrived over the next few weeks. Here is the complete list: - HR-2 hack rack - The Ohio Bar - 1.25,2.5,5,10,15,25,35,45 lbs plates Got my package delivered right before the Thanksgiving holidays and so was really excited about it. Assembled it with my son, a friend and his son. It took us ~3 hours to assemble the cage with four people. It could have taken a bit less time if we would not have put the base incorrectly. I’m absolutely loving the gear for the last couple of months. Have already reached squats up to 192.5 lbs this morning. This is so much better than Smith Machine and helps you get stronger in the right way. The change plates are a must as they allow you to progressively overload in 2.5 lbs increment. Overall, the gear is perfect for compound lifts and is every bit that I expected it to be. The assembly instructions are definitely sub par and there is a scope for better quality testing in them. Some parts of the instructions had to be interpreted. Some of the part numbers and types were also not matching. Fortunately, we could put everything in place.

Awesome option for a compact home gym
I bought the HR-2 half rack looking for something that would fit nice / neatly into a relatively small space, but would give me the functionality of a full rack with storage. I was not disappointed with this purchase - if you feel confined squatting in a cage, this configuration is for you. I requested that the 70" sticks in the rear be "upgraded" to 90" sticks (at additional cost) and purchased a crossmember for stability, which allows for extra storage and makes for a super-stable rack for dips using a matador (not pictured). The pull-up bar is able to be adjusted down such that you have enough head-room to reasonably use it with 94" ceilings. The finish on the HR-2 is OK. The powder coat has already started to wear after 2 weeks of use due to metal on metal contact implicit with moving around spotter arms or plates, which is expected but a bit annoying. The only major problem with this rack is how expandable / compatible it is with a wide variety of awesome accessories, which means my wallet keeps getting lighter!
