The HR-2 Half Rack Conversion Kit provides everything needed to upgrade your existing stand-alone squat stand to a half rack—giving you more spotting options and plate storage space to work with. The kit is compatible exclusively with the following Rogue units:

Regardless of which stand you wish to upgrade, the complete conversion kit will include all of the following: (2) 70" Monster Lite Uprights, (2) 17” Half Rack Crossmembers, (2) Triangle Plates for connecting the back uprights, and all the hardware required for set-up (finished in Bright Zinc). These simple add-ons instantly expand a squat rack’s versatility, including the ability to perform rack pulls and use safety spotters for bench work.

Important: The HR-2 is strictly a conversion kit and not a full, stand-alone rack. It is compatible ONLY with the Rogue squat stands listed above, and should NOT be used with other units.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Great Rogue Product My wife purchased the HR-2 Half Rack Conversion kit along with the 43 in. climbing crossmember and climbing hold kit during the Black Friday $5 shipping deal. It took me about 30 minutes to attach the half rack to my Monster Lite Squat Stand. It made my rack even more indestructible. It was a tank before the half rack kit. Now it is a Howitzer! The crossmember adds even more stability and with the climbing holds turns my half rack into a mini rig. The crossmember is heavy duty. I had some difficulty attaching it alone, but did, and the options for the hold are plenty even for the 43 inch version. Another home run for Rogue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SML-1 + Hr2 conversion + x-43 fat pull-up bar Added the conversion for plate storage and extra stability. Everything I’ll ever need for my little basement gym with low ceilings. Could not be any happier, the attached picture speaks for itself. Dont forget you need to buy a separate pull up bar to convert the sml-1, the fat bar mounts nice with the bottom two bolts leaving out the top bolt not attached to the uprights, the inch or two protrusion on top holds barbell collars nicely as pictured.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Add on to "If you didn't start with the HR-2.." Adding to my review two years ago: Just added an X-43" Single Fat Bar to the back (70") sticks of my rack. A couple of immediate observations: 1. Upon installing the bar, I was surprised to find that the top of the 70" sticks were 1/2 inch further apart than the bottom; fastening them together at the same 43" as the bottom of the stick clearly added stability, which is what I had hoped. 2. The 4.5" bolts that come with the HR-2 Conversion are less than the ideal length for two add-on accessories (I have the SP3358 Plate Storage using the same holes). It works, though the nut only screws on about half way. Solution: 5" bolts from the hardware store work perfectly, and make it a lot easier to cinch together the back sticks to the correct 43" width!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you didn't start with the HR-2 Half Rack.. I actually converted my SML-1 by ordering the Half Rack Conversion Kit with 90" sticks rather than 70". In hindsight I would have just ordered the HR-2 at the beginning (I had to order a separate pull-up bar because the SML-1 doesn't have one). I initially only planned on have a very basic stand to do squats and bench, but was so impressed by the quality that I decided it would be a worthwhile investment to build out. The setup is solid and easy to assemble, which is the basis for my 5-star rating. Sure I can make the unit sway a little side to side, but in the course of my regular workouts that doesn't happen. I should note that I do military style pull-ups, not these swinging variety that seem popular among crossfit enthusiasts; you might get a little sway depending on how violent your body movement is during that exercise. Also, because I didn't have the SML-2 with pull-up bar I cannot say whether the HR-2 improves the stability for pull-ups...though I would certainly think it does. I feel that having the plates on the storage pegs (which are shown in the photo but not included in the conversion kit - they have separate costs) help make the unit a bit more sturdy. They certainly save space. I did not order the Pin/Pipe Safety set; I have the Safety Spotter Arms and do everything on the front of the rack. The Pin/Pipes might make for a great mini/pseudo "power rack", but plate storage pegs (if purchased) would definitely get in the way of a squat or bench press.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stop the sway in your stand I ordered this for two reasons. The first is to kill the sway in the stand, before I had to weigh the feet down to do any kipping pull-ups or T2Bs; now with just the conversion kit, I can swing all I want (5'10"@205#). The second reason is to reduce the amount of space needed for my weights. I haven't bought the storage bars yet, but will write a review for those in the future. My only complaint is that only one of the uprights had a rogue sticker on it, but both had the cut out "R". Lastly I gave 5 stars because this thing is solid and does everything it is advertised to do; however, if I was do do it again, I would have just purchased the 90" uprights so I could do overhead work in the rack. That would give even more space for storage. (Rogue, if you do decide to make a taller half rack, I would like 10% of sales).
