AbMat Hip Thrust Pad

$67.00 CAD

AbMat Hip Thrust Pad

The AbMat Hip Thrust Pad is specifically designed to address the unique safety and stability requirements of the hip thrust movement. If you’ve been using makeshift solutions like rolled mats or neck pads for this purpose up to now, it’s high time to upgrade.

Manufactured in the USA and available here with exclusive Rogue branding, this patent-pending design features multi-layered well technology that creates a more even distribution of the bar’s weight and better protects the pelvis in the process. The flexibility of the foam pad also results in a more comfortable hinge and thrust for the user and greater overall stability, as the pad snugly pinches the bar between the hip and thigh through each rep.

Each AbMat Hip Thrust Pad measures 18" x 9" x 1.75" and includes a black Cordura outer to protect the padding on both sides. The top of the pad has a harder surface to take the bulk of the pressure and weight of the bar, while the bottom side has considerably more give and softness for the athlete’s comfort.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs to affix to the bar The advantage of using a squat roller pad is that it’s already on the bar and there’s less fussing around to get it in position so minus 1 star there and it’s expensive for what it is so that’s the other. In concept it’s great for the first version of it but could use a few upgrades.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Make them wider for wider hip people Make them wider for wider hip people 24" maybe width is fine but it simply isnt lengthy enough for me my hips are wider than 16" and the weight creases at the end of my hips where it hurts most i would need 2 of these next to eachother to make it work but then it would be awkward movement and would probably fall apart mid set just create sizes for this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works great... with conditions This pad is pretty good. Unfortunately, it’s not the most user-friendly. You need to find a bench or box of perfect height in order to roll the bar over the pad. If the bench/box is just a little too low (less than 1/2 inch), you’ll be forced to squeeze this pad under the bar. This sometimes results in the pad sliding up towards your stomach, exposing your pelvic area to the bar. Quite painful if you’re in the middle of a heavier set. I would be weary if you use a conventional barbell for thrusts. If you tend to use the smith machine or just dumbbells, I’m sure it’s more reliable. That being said, when the pad cooperates- it’s solid. I have used mine for two months about twice a week and it’s held up great (no tears or bend in the plastic layer)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed I am very disappointed with the product. I hip thrust 140kg x 10 reps frequently and this pad doesn't offer more protection than the typical "sponge" that you can buy much cheaper. It's still similarly painful to perform the movement. Also, the set up with the hip thrust pad is pretty clumsy. I feel like this product doesn't live up to the expectations and definitely is not worth the price. I wanted to return it but since Rogue doesn't cover the shipping is not even worth it to do so. I would recommend saving your money and purchasing your standard sponge. Sorry for the bad review but this product is worthless in my opinion. Cheers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for! For the longest time I stopped doing hip thrusters because they felt like absolute **** every time I started loading on any decent weight on the bar! When ever I did perform them, I always kept them light. All or my previous attempts at padding the bar never yielded the results that I was looking for. Right out of the box this pad did the trick! Not only is it padded but it also has a semi-rigid (what feels like plastic) plate inside of it to help disperse the load across your abdomen. With this pad I was finally able to start hip thrusting heavier (~400lbs) again without any real discomfort. Great Product!
