THE MONSTER CAVE

Reflex Fitness is a manufacturer of commercial grade fitness equipment used by Colleges, Pro Teams, Olympic Training Facilities, High Schools, Military, Fire, and Law enforcement since 1990. Rogue purchased Reflex in 2018 to add their considerable capabilities to our product offerings. They continue to build outstanding fitness equipment in their Illinois Factory.

Our design combines the space-efficient Monster Fold Back Rack with two cable-pulley stations, enabling superior training versatility with almost limitless customization potential. No matter how you choose to configure it, this unique rig can consolidate your barbell movements, cable movements, and equipment storage into a single, all-in-one system, with sizing options suited to whatever your gym needs.

The Monster Cave is manufactured in the USA and features 3x3” 11-gauge steel with an MG Black finish, 1” Monster hardware, and laser-cut holes spaced 2” on center. Customers can select the height of the uprights (90” or 100”) and the depth and configuration of the central Fold Back Rack, which is available as either a full 4-post power rack (24” or 30” depth) with included strap safeties or a standard 2-post fold-flat (21.5” or 41.5” depth). Building on the modular design of the Reflex Racks, the Monster Cave is also compatible with multiple different storage options, from Rack Storage Panels and specialized shelves to new side side winder that make it possible to use the real estate on the outsides of the weight stack Slingers for additional storage.

KEY FEATURES OF THE MONSTER CAVE

Cable System Configuration Options:

There are multiple cable system options with the Monster Cave, as well, from our Monster Weight Stack Slingers (with new high and low swivel pulleys) to either dual full CT-1 Cable Towers or a combination of the CT-1 and a LP-2 Lat Pulldown/Low Pull.
Please Note: The CT-1 and LP-2 are only compatible with the 100” rack height option. The CT-1 and LP-2 units ship fully assembled.

1. Dual Swivel Weight Stack Slinger:
Our Monster Weight Stack Slingers are augmented with high and low swivels allowing cable crossover movements as well as adding single cable movements that involve multiple axes. Rogue single cable handles are also included. Shrouds for the outsides of the weight stacks are included standard. The slinger itself is made with ¼” thick steel mounting plates, chrome-plated guide rods, Mil Spec cable, and 300 LB adjustable weight stacks in 10 LB increments with a 1:1 ratio (only the Weight Stack version of the Slinger is available with this package).

2. Dual CT-1:
The CT-1 Cable Towers have 16 adjustable height positions and include 6” machined aluminum pulleys, a USA Mil Spec cable, diamond tread footplate, Rogue single cable handles, and a 250 LB weight stack in 10 LB increments with a 2:1 ratio. This is only available with the 100” rack height option.

3. CT-1 + LP-2:
This option includes (1) CT-1 Cable Tower and (1) LP-2 Lat Pulldown / Low Row. The LP-2 includes a 300 LB weight stack (10 LB increments, 1:1 ratio), stainless steel lat bar, diamond-tread adjustable footplate, 6” machined aluminum pulleys, a USA Mil Spec cable, and a set of custom-built black carabiners—one each for the lat pulldown and the low row. This is only available with the 100” rack height option.

See Footprint Specs for each configuration.

1

Maximum Versatility

The Monster Cave combines a Rogue Fold Back Monster Rack with TWO independent cable-pulley systems and loads of available storage capacity. It enables athletes to do cable crossover movements from both high and low positions, performing triceps pushdowns and curls, lat pulldowns, low pulls, etc., alongside barbell movements like the squat, press, and bench press. The system’s compatibility with dozens of Monster add-ons and accessories offers almost limitless customization options.

2

Multiple Height and Depth Options

Along with custom attachments, customers can also customize The Monster Cave to their gym’s available space. The Fold Back Rack in the middle of the rig is available as a full power rack with 4 uprights (in a 24” or 30” depth) with included strap safeties or as a standard 2-upright fold-flat in a 21.5” or 41.5” depth. The height of the unit can also be selected at either 90” or 100”. Because of the unique retractable design of the power rack, additional space can also be instantly created by folding the unit’s uprights inward using the convenient hinge-and-pin system.

3

2 Cable-Pulley Systems in 3 Configuration Options

Using the dropdown features menu in the purchase area, customers can choose whether to book-end their Fold Back Rack with (2) Monster Slingers, (2) CT-1 Cable Towers, or a combo of (1) CT-1 and (1) LP-2 Lat Pulldown / Low Row. All of these systems are Made in the USA using 3x3” 11-gauge steel with a ¼” Mil Spec cable, 6” machined pulleys, and either 250 LB (CT-1) or 300 LB weight stacks in 10 LB increments. Weight stack shrouds are included standard with all variations.

4

Quality Rogue Manufacturing

Each Monster Cave rig is built in the USA using heavy-duty 3x3" 11 gauge steel uprights with laser-cut holes (spaced 2” on center), 1” Black Zinc Monster hardware, Monster J-cups, and an MG Black finish. (These are not compatible with the CT-1 or LP-2 options). Single post shelves with or without kettlebell trays are available for the 30” or 43” panel width, and plate storage shelves with stainless steel dividers are available for the 43” width.

Very good product
I have had the monster cave with the CT 1 towers for several months and have been very happy. No complaints. I think they are worth the money if you have the room for them.

The last rack I will ever own.
I had a PRX rack prior to this. I wanted something that was not wall mounted and wanted to replace my loading pin and pulley for any lat or extension work. This unit is solid. The hardware is serious and was packaged and delivered safely. The only gripe about the setup was it comes with 20 different sets of instructions for each component or add on. It is not one big instruction manual so I had to go back and remove bolts and move the top slingers if I was adding the front pivot slinger, which I was. The only other gripe I had was I got the full 30 inch rack so I will never be folding it in. It still comes with the folding hinges. It should come with a solid 9 inch bracket instead of the swivel hinge. Other than this small issues this rack is amazing. The weight stacks are smooth, the hardware solid, and quality high. The J Cups are amazing and the safety strap system also great. This rack is something my young boys will hopefully use when they get old enough to lift.

Just about perfect
It’s been about a month since I built this beast in my garage. It’s pretty incredible that you can fit this much into such a small profile. Installation took my buddy and I almost 2 full days. My biggest problem with that was that the instructions were not very clear on the weight stacks. They could have been more descriptive because if you don’t do it exactly right then the cable wouldn’t slide properly. About functionality: it’s great. It’s over built in all the good ways. I absolutely love it. But I am a perfectionist and there are couple of things I might suggest. 1. I wish the weight stack was taller or maybe just went to 250 instead of 300lbs to add more space. I say this because doing chest flies can cause the stack to hit the top of the rack even if you step a small distance out of the footprint of the rig. That’s pretty annoying but at the end of the day I am just thrilled to have them instead of stupid bands. To be clear, I even have the tallest rig type and the duel slingers. 2. A footplate would have been great on the duel slinger model. I’m using heavy db’s as a solution but a footplate would obviously be better. 3. The price for the shelves/hooks/storage bins is silly expensive. But it’s Rogue so you are not reading this if you weren’t expecting to pay at a premium. All these things are small gripes. I’m absolutely in love with this and use it every day.

Limited cable length, Overall Great product
I bought the cave prior to any reviews being posted. If I could do it all over again I would purchase the 43” instead of the 30”. 30" may have it uses, it limits room inside working area. Cable length restrictions: lower swivel pulley can move up and down. However, you can't use it once you go above the halfway point of the upright. The metal connectors get caught in the swivel/pulley. Addressing the issue should be simple by making the cable longer, add another bar to make top pulley higher or going with the taller unit, possibly. Overall, I am satisfied with quality and delivery method. Everything arrived conveniently packaged. Installed everything by myself, which took a few hours a night after work during the week and one day on the weekend. The only issue I have is the cable length. Again, if I had to do it all over I would go with the 43", get the taller unit or atleast one CT1.

0 Excuse Platform
The quote and ordering process were simple. UPS showed up with a truck and 3k pounds of made in America a few weeks later. Pro Tip 1: have a buddy help you. The frame is heavy and the not all the bolts are easy to reach alone. Pro Tip 2: don’t tighten all the bolts until you have all the accessories installed. I essentially built this thing twice because I cranked down the bolts. Pro Tip 3: buy a ratchet so your not constantly removing and reattaching wrenches. I have this 4 feet from my home office, and it is so complete that I have 0 excuses to not lift. If you are serious about lifting from home then this rig a great choice. I would purchase the 43” instead of the 30” if I did it again.

Overall a good value but limited by cable length
So I bought this with the slinger stacks after I purchased an RM-6 and made sort of a hybrid RM-8. Rather than make a folding rack, I used the stick uprights with the jammer arms so I can now adjust angle as well as height. The only missed opportunity I feel is the slinger. I thought the lower swivel pulley could move up and down since it's held in by quick pins. But that doesn't work due to the length of the cable preventing that to work about halfway up the upright since you're connecting 2 cables and the metal connectors get caught in the swivel/pulley. This could be fixed if the cable were long enough to reach the floor all the way from the weight stack and then you add additional cable if needed after the lower pulley. Originally I wanted to go with dual CT-1's because I was wary of the slinger being limited in usable heights, but CT-1's require a loading ramp since they're oversized cargo and I don't have a loading ramp at home. I know... amateur mistake. That said, if I find a way to get a longer cable, I'll probably mod the top swivel to fit on the bottom swivel's pin adjustable base and use it like that with a shorter extension cable for low cable pulley work.
